GENERAL INFO & PERMISSIONS A quick-reference guide to everything else! AGE, HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 24, 5'7" & 9st 5lbs (131lbs). Loki's bartender Xavier schoolteacher Data Entry from home. TRIGGERS: Lies. MEDICAL INFO: Healthy, no known allergies. MENTAL INFO: Sound. For as stressed as Verity's gifts make her, she retains the ability to laugh at them and herself. She can get short-tempered sometimes owing to the 'baby screaming in her head' effect when people lie. FOURTH-WALLING: Would like to avoid, if possible! If your character has read L:AOA or anything Marvel 616-ish then she'd be forced to believe they were speaking the truth about her being a comicbook character. PHYSICAL CONTACT: If relaxed and casual, yes. She doesn't go out of her way to hug strangers though, and might be a bit surprised. ROMANCE/SEXUAL RELATIONS: Verity has a difficult time dating because of her lie detection, but she certainly wants to have some fun since we first met her at a speed-dating event. I usually write smut out but I'm happy to FTB! INJURE/KILL: Check with me first so I know it's coming, but yes to the first! She's a normal human, mostly. No killing atm. DEVICE HACKING: Go for it! She'll probably use a private setting a lot if she feels pressured/irritated by lies and you might find something interesting commented about other characters.

CHARACTER: Thomas, BUT UH, okay so he doesn't actually have any memory past like the last four weeks in canon? "Thomas" isn't his real name - it's actually Stephen (he knows it isn't his real name, but he doesn't know what his real name actually is). Also, technically, lmao, his full name should be "Thomas Edison", but that is dumb as hell and he just considers his name to be "Thomas", no last name.
LIES: Most of the time he's pretty straight forward. If there's a lie in casual conversation that comes up, I'll be sure to put it in small text so that you know. However, there is the whole thing where Thomas has no gd idea who he is/what his past is, so he could be lying about stuff thaaaat he doesn't actually realize he's lying about? Typically, though, if it's like "thomas are you a furry" his answer would be something like "i don't think i'm a furry but i don't actually remember so idk maybe I was a furry? i feel like i wasn't a furry though". one thing that'll definitely ping for that is, thomas believes he's has 'the Flare', which is this zombie epidemic disease thing. he does not know that he's immune to it, and isn't even capable of being a carrier.

things he does actually lie about will be "i don't feel like talking about this/i'm too lazy to actually explain this" lies, and they'll typically always be about WICKED (some people that put a bunch of kids (thomas and his bros) through a bunch of horrific experiments for Humanity and it's really terrible), the maze/scorch trials, thomas's own involvement in WICKED and the trials, or stuff about newt and minho. newt and minho stuff that's lied about will be "i'm not going to talk about things people don't need to know about my friends" lies.

he will also super lie about how stable he is. like a "thomas are you going to be able to make it through today without wanting to hide in a closet" "yes i'm super cool no closets for me", a lot of the time, that would be a huge lie. he will generally always be like "i'm fine" even if he has his arm half cut off or something, idk. other than that, lies by omission might happen, but that'll be written in small text :|a can't think of anything else!

With Thomas not knowing his real name, I'll have Verity unable to pick up on it too. She can't pluck truths out of thin air, so she'll be content for the moment with what he names himself and it won't raise flags. WRT to the zombie disease, if he believes he's a carrier and actually isn't then she'd likely just tell him, "You're fine" and be flatly insistent about it.

She'll be tactful with any lies regarding his well-being, although she might come off sceptical in between letting him cover up the truth. She has a habit with Loki of exchanging the phrase 'Thanks for the lie' when there's an obvious one going on, so Verity will know the worth of them when it comes to protection and give Thomas leeway if common-sense says he needs it.
